When I looked at this shimmery Pietersite cabochon, I saw tree trunks reaching up to the sky. The rich golden browns of the stone made me think of gold; I decided to use 14K gold to complement the Pietersite. The stone is set on a sterling silver back, and is surrounded by a 14K gold bezel. I added gold leaves along one side of the stone, soldered to a fine silver branch. The bail is a sterling silver tube. A couple of tree trunks with branches are cut out behind the stone.
