A copper mother duck parades her three ducklings on a silver pond. Copper grasses line the back edge of the pond; copper cattails with fused silver tops rise up on both sides and in the back. Two jump rings allow a chain to be threaded through. I used various hammered textures on this piece. The ducks have a texture that represents feathers. The fine silver ripples on the water are hammered to add movement as the light hits it. I darkened the silver water behind the ripples and polished to help the ripples stand out. The grass is also textured, while the leaves around the side cattails are curved. This pendant comes with an 18 inch snake chain.
This scene is one I sometimes see on the pond below our house; I'm excited to have been able to re-create it in a piece of jewelry.
SIZE: This pendant is about 2 inches wide and 1 inch high (not counting the jump rings). The highest cattail adds 3/8 inches to the height. This pendant is sold with an 18 inch sterling silver snake chain.
MATERIALS: Sterling silver, Fine silver, Copper
