This pendant was inspired by the wetlands around my home. It features a gorgeous Chrysocolla cabochon which came from the Inspiration Mine in Arizona. As soon as I looked at this wonderful stone, I saw a wetlands scene, with reeds and cattails. The stone is set in fine silver on a sterling silver backplate. I added fine silver leaves and a cattail next to the stone. The cattail top is copper with silver melted on top to add a three dimensional, textured aspect. A red-winged blackbird stands on top of the stone, nibbling on the cattail. A heron, another wetlands visitor, is cut out behind the stone. The bail is hand cut and riveted.
SIZE: This pendant measures about 1 7/8 inches high and 1 1/2 inches wide. The cabochon measures 30x15x5mm.
MATERIALS: Sterling silver, Inspiration Mine Chrysocolla, Fine silver, Copper
PROPERTIES OF STONES (information compiled from various sources): Chrysocolla is supposed to be a stone of communication. It is also considered a peaceful stone and is said to help get rid of negative energies while encouraging compassion.
