The golden honey color of these Baltic Amber cabochons will cheer up even the darkest day. There are little bits captured inside that reflect the light, adding a bit of glitter to the warm stones. The sterling silver setting is textured with melted silver dust, sanded and polished to catch the light and somewhat mimic the sparkle of the cabochons. I cut out the back behind the stones in order to let light through. Because of the cut outs on the silver setting and the very light weight of amber, these earrings are lightweight relative to their size.
The ear wires are sterling silver, and are handmade to match the earrings, with a bit of silver dust melted on the front of the loops.
SIZE: These earrings hang about 2 1/8 inches long and are about 5/8 inch wide. The amber cabochons are 15mm in diameter. Each earring weighs 3 grams.
MATERIALS: Sterling silver (.925), Fine silver (.999), Baltic Amber. Amber cabochons like these have been heated and shaped.
PROPERTIES OF STONES (information compiled from various sources): Amber is said to help balance emotions and clear the mind. It is also supposed to take negative energy away from the body and help ease stress. Because it is technically not a stone (but rather fossilized tree resin or sap), it is warm rather than cool as most stones are.
