Maw Sit Sit is a gorgeous bright green stone, often with black, gray or occasionally white patterning. It is a somewhat rare stone only found in parts of Myanmar. The cabochon on this cuff definitely shows off the beautiful nature of this stone. The cuff is sterling silver, which I gently hammered to create a subtle texture. The round stone is slightly off set from center. Although delicate, this cuff bracelet will make a statement on your wrist. The bracelet is sterling silver, while the bezel around the stone is fine silver.
SIZE: This cuff has an inside circumference of about 6 1/2 inches and an insided diameter of just over 2 1/4 inches (from side to side). Diameter from front to back is about 1 7/8 inches. The opening is about 1 1/8 inches. Cuffs can be very slightly adjusted (no more than 1/4 inch at the very most). This adjustment should be done only once as squeezing and stretching will compromise the metal as well as the setting. See Caring for your Cuff for more information.
MATERIALS: Maw Sit Sit, Sterling silver, Fine silver
PROPERTIES OF STONES (information compiled from various sources): Maw Sit Sit is found in northern Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) on the slope of the Himalayan mountains. It is sometimes called a type of jade, but it is actually a combination of various minerals that give it its brilliant green color, usually speckled or banded with black. It is said to bring joy, hope and is supposed to attract good luck.
