A shooting star soars over crystal purple mountains on this one-of-a-kind pendant. The stone is quartz with natural amethyst crystals at the top. The layers of different colored quartz look like land leading up to glittering purple mountains. There are translucent bands in the quartz that really glow and the amethyst sparkles beautifully in the light and with motion. I thought a silver shooting star was the perfect decoration for this wonderful stone.
The back plate is sterling silver. The star and bezel around the stone are fine silver (.999 silver). The bail is hand cut and riveted. This pendant is sold without a chain (chain shown in images is for photographing purpose only).
SIZE: This pendant measures about 1 3/4 inches long from top of bail to bottom of pendant, and is about 1 inch wide.

PROPERTIES OF STONES (information compiled from various sources): One interesting property of amethyst, going back to ancient Roman times, is that it supposedly prevents drunkenness. In fact, the name comes from the Greek word "amethystus", meaning not drunken. Otherwise, amethyst is considered to provide calm, balance, patience and peace. Amethyst is February's birthstone. Quartz is said to clear the mind of negativity, and to enhance personal awareness and growth.
