This woven bead bracelet features faceted Amethyst Lace as the central focus, surrounded by little glittering faceted Peridot and purple Czech glass beads. The unusual color combination makes me think of Victorian lace. The Amethyst beads range from dark to medium purple with varying amounts of light purple and white banding. The toggle clasp is Sterling Silver. The twisted rope decoration of the clasp mimics the banding on the Amethyst beads. Amethyst is February's birthstone, while Peridot is the stone for August birthdays.
SIZE: This bracelet measures a little over 6 1/2 around inches when closed. It will comfortable fit a 6-6 1/2" wrist.
PROPERTIES OF STONES (information compiled from numerous sources): One interesting property of amethyst, going back to ancient Roman times, is that it prevents drunkenness. In fact, the name comes from the Greek word "amethystus", meaning not drunken (of course... I wouldn't want to stake a breathalyzer test on it). Otherwise, amethyst is considered to provide calm, balance, patience and peace. Peridot is said to be a stone of lightness that can help someone who is going through depression. It is supposed to balance the process of emotional release and foster emotional balance, security and inner peace.
